Dear beloved TNP familia, community, and friends,
This March marks eight years since The New Philanthropists received its official nonprofit designation. At that moment, I couldn’t have imagined what TNP would grow into, what it would stand for, or how deeply it would shape me. What I did know was this: we had to do things differently. We had to bring voices to the table that our community could trust and truly see themselves in.
When I look back now, much of it feels like a beautiful blur filled with challenges, moments of doubt, resilience, and growth. We proved ourselves to skeptics, navigated uncertainty, and rose to meet a momentum that sometimes felt bigger than all of us. And we did it together. To say this journey has made me a better leader, person, and community member is an understatement. I’ve grown in ways I can’t fully put into words, and that growth is because of you. Because of the people who carried TNP on their backs, in their hearts, and through their actions. I am better because of you.
As we enter this eighth year, I want to share that it will conclude my time as Executive Director of TNP. This decision is not rooted in conflict, but in deep love and admiration for this organization. Just as board service has term limits, I believe leadership does too… and in my heart, this feels like the right moment to invite new leadership that will take TNP to heights we haven’t yet imagined. I’m a firm believer that what we’ve built together lives beyond any one role or season.
Together with our team and board, my intention is to ensure a thoughtful, values-aligned succession process… one that includes our community, stakeholders, and advocates. We want to hear from you. Because this journey belongs to all of us. The TNP Board will be sharing more soon about what’s ahead, including a transition period anticipated for mid-year 2026 and information about the recruitment agency we will be working with.
This is not goodbye. After my departure, I fully intend to remain connected and involved with TNP, because this community, this work, and this vision are forever part of me.
