Standing Firm, Building Forward. 2025 brought challenges to the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion, but it also revealed what sustained commitment looks like. At The New Philanthropists, we doubled down on action: Resistance in Action. Real Talk. Real Change. captured our approach to convening honest conversations that lead to measurable outcomes rather than performative statements. Those conversations informed program design, funding priorities, and community partnerships. You can see this action in our EOY report.
Healing as Strategy. We treated healing as essential infrastructure. Creating Space to Heal meant more than a program label—it meant restorative circles, coaching, and peer support that allowed leaders to process, recover, and return to the work with renewed clarity. These investments reduced burnout, strengthened networks, and improved retention among emerging leaders.
Building When Others Backed Away. Across the country, some institutions cut DEI work. We chose a different path. While DEI Was Dismantled, We Built—launching new cohorts, expanding mentorship pipelines, and investing in community‑led solutions. Those efforts produced tangible outcomes: new leaders, stronger organizations, and deeper community trust.
Defending Representation. When resources shrank, our resolve grew. They Defund. We Defend. Representation Matters. is both a statement and a strategy: we protected core programs that create access and opportunity, and we amplified the voices of those most affected by retrenchment.
Voices That Lead. Through our programming, we bring NEW Voices, Perspectives, Leaders, and PHILANTHROPISTS— to the table to grow leadership and philanthropy that reflect our communities. By investing in people, networks, and practical skills, we ensure that leadership tables reflect the communities they serve.
